RedPill

1.4.2
Freeware

Author's description: Red Pill is a free screensaver for Mac OS X. It displays strips of green alien code which slowly draw themselves on the screen as they sweep towards you in 3D. It may bear a certain resemblance to graphics seen in a popular Sci-Fi movie sequel being released in May 2003.
Our verdict: This screensaver based on The Matrix film is in many ways nicer looking than Matrix, for example the screen glyphs are animated with OpenGL and dont suffer from jpeg blockiness the way the Matrix screensaver does. It is also offers far more configuration options than Matrix does. However RedPill just doesn't look quite as much like the famous scene from the movie (which to some people may be a good thing). Early versions had a slight stability problem in the form of occasional crashes when changing configuration settings. Highly recommended.
Notes on this version: There is an unofficial Intel build of RedPill available here.
