Author's description: The BTFishes screen saver looks for nearby Bluetooth devices (e.g. cell phones and other computers), and for each device summons a unique, colourful fish. It will also display a news feed of your choice.
Our verdict: An interesting idea which could be fun in a crowded setting. As you can see from our screenshot a solitary Bluetooth phone doesn't quite cut the mustard! (Our BT mouse wasn't even detected.) We do wonder how this screensaver would affect a laptop's battery life but suspect it's not such a big deal given that it is only detecting other devices and not pairing or sending data. The fish are fairly simple, but given this is only a very early release we would expect to see some improvement there.
