Virtual Fireworx

Author's description: All year long, any holiday or occasion, Virtual FireworX brings a festive mood to your Mac! These pyro-tastic delights burn cool, so they won't burn you, or your screen! Virtual FireworX are realtime 3D particle animations of fireworks simulations. Thanks to new technology available to MacOS X 10.4, a.k.a., "Tiger", Virtual FireworX performs better than it's predecessor, Digital FireworX. Because the fireworks render in realtime, they truly vary from each viewing, randomly igniting in new locations in 3D space!
Our verdict: Another fireworks screensaver in the tradition of Pyro, but in a different style to the current champ Skyrocket. This module places the camera much closer to the action, and although the lack of background and lens flare reduces the realism, the fireworks are brighter and more vivid. Although the free version still looks great on its own, the paid version adds different types of fireworks. Marked down due to the honkin' great logo in the preview window.
Notes on this version: Virtual FireworX REQUIRES Mac OS X Tiger, 10.4 or greater, and the following graphics hardware: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX and later, or any AGP-based ATI RADEON GPU. A minimum of 16MB VRAM is required.
