Author's description: Enjoy five (Dropdown, Circles, Spin, Fall in, Reptiles) screen animations with our screensaver Void. It takes the screen and plays with it a little.
Our verdict: A luscious screensaver with five distinct modes. While each mode features a slick Quartz-powered animation of the desktop, four of them result in a black screen. Practical, but boring to look at. As a result our favorite mode is the 'Do Circle' one (pictured), which performs some nifty gymnastics with your desktop.
Notes on this version: Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4 and Quartz Extreme (or more, will not work on some types of hardware). The latest version adds a fun new effect where the screen is transformed into tessellating reptiles which wander off the screen.
